Targi Sportów 2019
This year, I had the chance to organize the 2019 edition of the Targi Sportów during the Back to Sport campaign. 25 stores participated with great motivation and it was a pleasure to coordinate the actions. They took place majorly on the 6th and 7th of September.
There were 4 sports we focused on, following the Back to Sport campaign: futsal, swimming, fitness, running + fast walking!
To remind you what Targi Sportów are about: it’s an event where each store invites local sports clubs and associations to present their activities. Each store can also prepare stands and activities for customers. Parents and their kids come and are able to choose their favorite sport. The advantage for Decathlon: it creates a new flow of customers who will enter the store to buy the material for their children’s chosen sport!
What worked pretty well: we tried a new lever of communication for the willing stores: local media, which were really promising. Some stores decided also to make groups with the participants to enjoy all the activities and shows, and it went really well!
What didn’t work so well: because of the weather, some stores didn’t prepare an indoor solution for Targi Sportów, what could make it complicated. We also didn’t have the time to prepare radio ads for local radios, which could have brought more people!
